Born in Seville, Jorge Gresa Ostos began his education at the age of 8 with Isabel Quirós, Carmen Fernández and Claudio Baraviera, finishing middle school studies with an Honorable Mention. He studied in Madrid with Asier Polo and María Casado and is currently honing his skills in Utrecht with Timora Rosler. He has received coaching from cellists such as Enrico Dindo, Maria Kliegel, Rafael Rosenfeld, Emil Rovner, Barbara Switalska, Jeroen den Herder, Gavriel Lipdkind and Alain Meunier.
He was a member of youth orchestras such as JONDE (Spanish National Youth Orchestra), the Academy of Orchestral Studies of the Barenboim - Said Foundation, the Andalusian Program for Young Instrumentalists, the Nationaal Jeugd Orkest of the Netherlands, and the Young Instrumental Academy of the OCG. In collaboration with these orchestras he premiered works by composers such as José Luis Greco, Martin Fondse, and Steffen Schorn. He has been conducted by Karl Anton Rickenbacher, George Pehlivanian, Manuel Hernandez Silva, Domingo Garcia Hindoyan, Andres Salado, Miguel Romea, Michael Thomas or Hansjörg Schellenberger, among others.
As a chamber musician he was awarded the 1st prize of the 'Visitación Magarzo' Competition in Seville in 2009 and 2013. He has worked with musicians such as Andoni Mercero, Tommaso Cogato, Joaquín Torre, Sebastian Koloski, Giuseppe Devastato, Ashan Pillai, Klára Würtz, Frederieke Saejs, Alfredo García, Viola de Hoog and members of the Quiroga and Casals Quartets.
